It’s all unravelled at the seams, day 5 is a write-off. This routine is proving very difficult to stick to and I haven’t made it easy for myself. It’s not just me, I’m starting to realise that even during a period when social interaction is barely required and my responsibilities to anyone other that myself are at an all time low, it’s very difficult to fit a 6 day peg into a 7 day hole.
If I had timed this as per the xkcd example then I would have been allowed to stay up all night at the weekend. My timings are different because I want to revert to 24 hour days from next Sunday morning. The way I have worked it means that Friday is a really bad day for having a social life and Saturday isn’t much better. If I had intended to live like this permanently then I would have arranged it differently.
Day 5 was supposed to run from 0500 to midnight, but I wasn’t long asleep by 0500 so this was way off the programme. I obviously slept for a good 8 or 9 hours like I’m used to and so woke around midday or so.
I didn’t achieve much today, but didn’t feel tired or that I wouldn’t be able to, had I wanted. This programme raises an interesting question – when is the weekend? Do you get a day off and if so, when? Is it for 2 days or just 1?
Just as I had got up way too late I went to bed way too late. I didn’t feel like I needed to sleep until about 0300, meaning I’m in the sleep cycle for a day ahead. Working to any length of day requires a certain amount of flexibility but it’s important to be aware of the knock on effect. I will essentially repeat this day tomorrow and see if I can get back on track.
