This is the first proper day, a complete 28 hours. I got off to a little bit of a bumpy start but am I determined to get back on track from today. It’s only the first day after all and I have a lot more of this to go.
According to my schedule I should have gone to sleep at 0400 and woken at 1300 but this slipped a little bit and so I woke slightly late at 1500. I felt pretty good after waking, my body thinks its the middle of the afternoon of course. I had a coffee and chilled out for a bit.
1800. I had a pork curry for dinner, which is the normal time for the evening meal but I’d only been awake for 3 hours. It didn’t feel unusual though as I don’t think my body has switched over to the routine yet (will it ever!?) I keep going with my day, watched a bit of youtube and did some writing.
0100. I was feeling hungry and had a Huel to keep me going. I’m feeling fine and awake.
0230. I am starting to feel a bit sleepy. There are still 5:30 hours left so hopefully I can keep going. I am awake but feeling rather lethargic and unable to function properly. Thinking takes longer and I am less productive. Part of the purpose of the 28 hour day is to have more productive time, but I can’t claim to really productive here. I can watch TV but I don’t think I could even read a book at this point and stay focused on it, much less study or do anything like that.
0330. I have some toast and a little bit of chocolate, I feel a bit more perked up and am able to write some emails.
0600. The tiredness has set in again and I am now looking forward to going to bed – just 2 hours to go!
0745 . I had a cooked breakfast for supper! I felt myself start to wake again possibly because the sun was now well and truly up.
0810. .It’s time for bed! I definitely feel tired but my body starting to wake up. This sounds like a paradox but it’s the contrast between having being awake for long time and the circadian rhythm telling me it’s time to wake now. I overrule the circadian rhythm and head to bed. It doesn’t take me long to fall asleep.
