This is a blog about ideas, thoughts and opinions. I am \ninterested in technology, in new experiences, in movies, music, food, \nhealth, nostalgia and lots more. I intend to share my slice of life on \nthis blog! I have created this mostly for myself and I don\u2019t expect many\n to read my posts. I\u2019m not doing any deliberate SEO or other promotion.\n That said, if you have found your way here and stumble upon something \nwhich you find helpful or interesting, let me know: please leave a \ncomment or send me an email. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n My previous effort at making a blog was hosted on a Dec Alpha server \nin my parents house running on Linux\/Apache\/MySql\/PHP (LAMP). It first \ncame online in 2003 and was improved a few times. A skeleton of the \nfinal version is currently here.<\/a> It\n consists of a mere 22 entries, the last of which was created in 2013. \nEven though it was made of some fairly ropey PHP, had very little \nconsideration for security issues or data validation and overall was \nquite basic, I was still proud of it because it was all my own work and \nfunctioned as I expected it to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I wanted to keep it going but I tend to spend more time doing the \nthings I want to blog about that actually blogging about them, perhaps \nthat\u2019s not a bad thing but I also want something I can look back at; to \nrecord my efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the reasons I delayed so much in keeping it going was that the\n content moved servers a few times and the various software versions \ndidn\u2019t approve of the way I had written my PHP (and with good cause!). I\n didn\u2019t set aside time to do a code rewrite and with the site \nnonfunctional it languished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I have finally decided that I\u2019d rather get a blog going using an off-the-shelf option (WordPress). It\u2019s currently hosted by valuevps<\/a>.\n I set everything up myself but the software is not my own.
